Ed Bond Woods is an abstract artist and Native New Yorker. At a young age he experimented with metals and ceramics, with his muse being the massive and kind-hearted elephant. Within the 40 years of his art career, Ed Bond has experimented with and combined a variety of aesthetic styles including cubism, constructivism and futurism resulting in his unique approach to a cognitive artistic expression. Battling leukemia in 2015, Ed Bond fought depression and fear from his New York Presbyterian Hospital bed where he spent numerous months looking out the window onto the East River. Seeking ways to stay optimistic, he found inspiration when gloomy days and nights turned to imagery of colorful lights shining from the yachts and water waves. He has successfully recovered and found a healing through the bold colors and shapes he creates. Ed Bond has been exhibited in numerous art fairs in New York, Philadelphia, and New Jersey. He’s shown on numerous cruise events hosted by the Delta Sorority on the Hudson River. Since then Ed has made the switch of mediums from sculptures to painting. As a re-emerging artist, Ed Bond hopes to encourage those to seek their true colors and brighten anew.
